After spending the morning at the Ben Duoc tunnels site (part of the Cu Chi Tunnels), we had lunch at the Dia Dao restaurant, floating right on the Song Saigon (Saigon River).
Cold beer courtesy of Heineken!
Spring Rolls … of course
Beef Stir Fry and a sour tamarind based soup
Cat Fish from the Song Saigon in a clay pot
Taro Root with a sugar/salt/peanut “dip” …. During the Vietnam War this was a staple for the Vietcong people. Washed down with a beer it was OK. But the “dip” and the beer were not available to round out the dish during the war.
